In April 2022, our team at Detour Lake Mine in Northern Ontario reached a tremendous milestone for the operation, pouring their 5 millionth ounce of gold since commercial production began at the site in 2013. That’s approximately 10,000 bars of gold which when stacked on top of each other would be higher than the CN Tower in Toronto, ON. 

This is a huge achievement for the operation. One that would not have been possible without the support and assistance of our partners who helped us along the way. 

This is a true milestone in Detour Lake’s life of mine. The team worked together and steadily increased production since production was commenced under Detour Gold in 2013. There were a lot of long hours, dedication and effort put in by our employees, our partners, and important stakeholders to help us achieve this milestone. Without the support from the entire team, we would not have reached this point. 

As we look forward, we are excited about the bright future ahead for Detour Lake Mine and are looking forward to celebrating many more milestones.
